Christopher Hossack

Christopher Hossack

Christopher is a doctoral student in Inorganic Chemistry at the George Washington University. He is the first ever winner of our new Annual Neilom Foundation Meritorious Award in Technology and Society at the Cosmos Club in Washington, DC. The program award process is very selective; only about 10% of the proposals submitted are funded. Recipients, who are designated ‘Cosmos Scholars’, receive recognition and support at a critical stage of their careers.

Christopher is studying lanthanides (Ln), known for their light-emitting and magnetic properties, and trying to find an application for them in quantum computers, as they are capable of addressing some of today’s most pressing issues–from modeling future weather patterns, to drug discovery, and even developing artificial intelligence programs.
