Amanda Comeau

Amanda Comeau

Since she was 14, Amanda has been volunteering in fundraising and construction with a nonprofit called the Appalachia Service Project, which is dedicated to eradicating substandard housing in impoverished rural Appalachia (which stretches from Pennsylvania to Mississippi). She would like to work with organizations such as Engineers Without Borders and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and work for a nonprofit as an engineer.

She has been involved in community events for organizations such as Community Forklift, Habitat for Humanity, Shepherd’s Table and Ronald McDonald House. Amanda’s area of focus for the future is dealing with the issues of climate change and the cycle of poverty.
